Watton played host to one of the best guitarists in the world when Kee Marcello, formerly of the bands Europe, Easy Action and K2, gave a guitar players' clinic at Norfolk Guitar and Bass Centre in Watton.

Watton was one of only a few dates in the UK for the international star with others at London, Cardiff and Newcastle.

He gave a virtuoso master class in playing his rock and metal styles to a gathered audience of local musicians, demonstrating some of the techniques which have made him such a sought after player.

For over two hours he played, demonstrated and answered questions about his career and life as a world class musician.

This was a free to enter event sponsored by Norfolk Guitar and Bass Centre, Sound Technology, Washburn and Randall and was just one of a series of clinics which have been staged by NGBC.

Other recent clinics have featured Esteban Antonio, the world's number one Flamenco guitarist, and Pete Smith, a prominent country and blues player.

Georgina Bambridge, who owns the shop, said: 'It is so difficult for young players to get to meet real top flight musicians, We have the opportunity with this specialist store to invite some of the very best in the entertainment world to come along and just show how it can be done'.

She added: 'We have the contacts and therefore are able to get these people along, not just to perform, but to meet with our customers and share with them. I know that many young musicians have been encouraged by these events. There is no better way of improving your own playing than getting advice from the best in the world, who you respect and admire, and Kee is one of the best rock guitarists in the world today.'

Events in the store are normally free to attend, but some, because of the popularity of the event, are ticket only. Details of future events can be found in store or on the www.ngbc.co.uk website.
