Staff and trustees at the Watton-based Wayland Partnership have been overwhelmed by the response of local artists to the launch of this year's spring exhibition.
Since the Dragonfly Exhibition Centre opened at Wayland House two years ago, each exhibition has attracted a dozen or so artists to fill the available space, but this year 25 artists have applied for space so the organisers have agreed to mount an additional event in May in order to accommodate everyone.
Each artist is asked to submit a sample of their work on applying and this year Partnership staff are excited by the variety and range of work on offer.
Planning the two events will be tinged with sadness after the death of Simon Sturges, in a road accident. Simon exhibited in the Christmas Exhibition and was planning his own exhibition later this year.
The first of the two exhibitions will be from Apri 5th - 12th l and the second from May 17th - 24th from 10am - 4pm daily except Sunday, with previews on April 4 and May 16 from 7.30 - 9pm. Admission to the previews is free but by ticket only obtainable from Wayland House (call Susan on 01953 880205).
