Books on a wide range of subjects, fiction and non-fiction, are now available in a charity bookshop set up by the Friends of Castle Acre Church. All the funds raised go towards essential repairs and maintenance of the church.

The bookshop is housed in the former butcher's shop at the east end of the main village High Street. It is open on most Saturdays from 10am to 4pm and on other holidays in the summer, subject to having volunteers available. There is an 'official opening' on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5 at 10am and refreshments will be served during that day.

Many of the books are 'as new' and of high quality. Categories include history; travel; cookery; biography; gardening and sport. There are hundreds of paperbacks and a huge selection of children's books and also jigsaws. The Classics and older, or antiquarian books which might be termed 'collectors'items' are available too.
