TOURING opera company Livewire rounds off its 2007/8 season in June and July with performances of Johann Strauss's popular operetta Die Fledermaus with one earmarked for Watton.
The 20-strong company is touring its production to five venues this year including the Queens Hall, Watton on July 11.
Strauss's light-hearted operetta, Die Fledermaus, is set in late nineteenth-century Vienna and combines a cast of colourful characters with some of opera's most popular musical moments in a story of love, laughter and sweet revenge.
The operetta tells how the respected Dr. Falke obtains his exquisite revenge on his friend Eisenstein for a prank played on him. Eisenstein had left Falke in the middle of the town square sleeping off the effects of a fancy-dress party - with Falke still dressed in his bat costume. Falke became a laughing-stock around the town and decided to get his own back.

Performances start at 7.30pm
Tickets are priced at £9 & £8, concessions £7.
