Cyclists from 15 to 86 were acclaimed - from Norman Eldridge, who recorded a new East Anglian Veterans' 10-mile age-related record of 34 minutes 40 seconds, to youngsters Thomas Doe and Adam Cross.

Guest of honour Brenda Tate (East Anglian CC) presented awards to Adam, who won both the five and 10-mile junior points competition, was junior road race champion and was junior best all-rounder.

Bobby De'ath, the loss of whose father Aubrey, and that of founder member Albert Saunders, was noted with a minute's silence, won the senior 10-mile points championship and the two-up lottery award along with Ken Price, while Geoff Muller took the five-mile points competition.

Racing secretary Martin Badham took the Gill Bradley 25-mile memorial trophy and was senior road race champion and Mark Fairhead won the 10-mile handicap plaque.

Phil Nudds really pulled out all the stops to win the 10, 25 and 50-mile championships while for Laura Robinson it was her best season ever when she took the women's title at 10 and 25 miles together with her 4-51:42 ride in the 100-mile beating her male rivals.
