Watton teams set for tussle

The first match of the Norfolk Squash League winter season sets up a local derby between newly-promoted Watton II and the experienced but newly-relegated (and probably still smarting ) Watton I!

Watton Squash Club played a pre-season friendly against Division One team North Norfolk.

Watton Squash Club played a pre-season friendly against Division One team North Norfolk.

Bobby Hunt shared the first four games 9-0, 7-9, 8-9, 9-7 against Tim Perry, eventually winning the decider 9-2 to come through 3-2.

Chris Haythorpe cruised to a 9-0, 9-6, 9-0 straight game win over Grant Gooden. Dev Mahatme came through 9-7, 9-0, 7-9, 9-6 against Luke Perry 3-1. Ian Thompson lost the first two games 8-10, 7-9 to Martin Guppy before fighting back taking the next two 9-1, 9-3. Martin then nicked the decider 9-7 with Ian going down 3-2.

Kevin Blake went down 7-9, 4-9, 3-9 in straight games to Neil Foster. First string Paul Goodchild looked back to his best, taking out Steve Moxey 9-2, 9-1, 9-7 in straight games.
