Watton Reserves were a little unlucky to come away pointless from a tight game against Mundford. Two goals down, Watton fought back valiantly.

Despite hitting the woodwork twice and going close several times, they only had Michael Callaghan's near-post header to show for their endeavour in a 2-1 defeat.

Watton A got a great 5-2 win over Hemsby Reserves in the first round of the Norfolk Primary Cup. Also deserving of congratulations are Watton United's U18 team, who secured their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Wisbech in midweek.

The club's newly-formed veterans' side (over 35s) got an impressive 7-1 away win over Attleborough, two divisions higher, in the cup.

Trevor Brown fired home then Mervyn Brown netted too. In the second half Trevor Brown netted three more then Robbie Bray hammered back a poor clearance before Mervyn Brown found the net for a second time.

They won their opening league match, beating Wymondham College Reserves 5-0. The Vets' next game is on Sunday, October 12 away at Norwich Hotspur.

Watton FC is always on the lookout for new players. Go along to training sessions at Watton Sports Centre on a Tuesday (7.15 start) or Vets' training on Mondays (7.15 start).
