Watton (Loch Neaton) Bowls Club ladies' fourth match, away to Thetford in the BLL, unfortunately proved to be a fruitless journey.

Thetford ladies were on top form, taking maximum points.

The men returned to their EBA fixtures on Wednesday with a convincing 4½ to ½ win at home to Weeting.

In the Ashill and District League, the A team retained their unbeaten record by sharing the points 4-4 at home to Mundford. On Tuesday they are away to Thetford B. The B team came away from Weeting with two points.

The C team, at home to Wymondham Dell B, came up with a resounding six points, which was a very creditable performance.

On Thursday, the club entertained Swaffham at home in a friendly. Although Watton won on aggregate shots, the result of these matches is of secondary importance.

All four triples, as well as two additional triples from Watton, all enjoyed the sun and friendly atmosphere.

On Saturday, the club played at Mundford in the Graves Cup against Thetford. Of the five mixed triples games played, Watton won two, drew another and lost in two. The result was decided on the overall shots, which Thetford won by 14 shots.

Watton were represented on Sunday in the Bradenham Triples Open Invitation. The team of Clive King, Colin Childs and John Hunter played three games of eight ends each, drawing the first and winning the next two. This resulted in them finishing in second position, behind Bradenham on shot difference.
