Undefeated Division Two champions elect Watton I followed up their 20-1 away win at Wensum Lodge with another two maximums. Away at Barnham Broom, Ian Thompson had too much craft and came back from 2-1 down to win a great match against an up and coming youngster 3-2.

Away at Barnham Broom, Ian Thompson had too much craft and came back from 2-1 down to win a great match against an up and coming youngster 3-2. Steve Rudd lost the first but then dominated the next three games to come though 3-1.

Jonathan Pearson, Alan Soame and first string Simon Howling all cruised to 3-0 straight game wins, with the overall result 20-3 for Watton.

Cromer then visited Watton, with Ian Thompson winning 3-1 with the only blemish letting the third game slip. Steve Rudd had too much craft, winning 3-0 in straight games.

Jonathan Pearson made hard work of it, almost dropping a game, but also came through 3-0, as did Alan Soame comfortably. Simon Howling struggled with a knee injury but still came through 3-2 to seal a 20-3 victory.

Watton II' s slide continued with a 19-6 away defeat to East Anglia.

Dev Mahatme made a fight of it but lost the decider, going down 8-10, 9-7, 9-6, 5-9, 5-9. Chris Haythorpe 4-9, 2-9, 6-9 and Bobby Hunt 4-9, 7-9, 0-9 were both well beaten 3-0 in straight games.

Kevin Blake took the first 9-5 but then faded, losing the next three 9-1, 9-6, 10-8, to go down 3-1. Paul Goodchild won the first 9-1,then lost concentration, conceding the next two 9-6, 9-1. Fortunately Paul raised his game to take the next two 9-5, 9-4 to come through 3-2.

Worse was to follow at Barnham Broom, with Watton conceding 3-0 at four and five. Kevin Blake then lost 6-9, 7-9, 7-9 in straight games, with an out-of-sorts Paul Goodchild going down 4-9, 5-9, 6-9, also in straight games. Bobby Hunt lost the first 9-6 but saved the whitewash by taking the second 9-7. He was edged out 9-8 in the next, and lost the fourth 9-5 to go down 3-1. Overall a heavy 20-1 defeat.

Another away trip followed, this time to UEA. Dev Mahatme won comfortably 9-5, 9-1, 9-3 in straight games. Chris Haythorpe started brightly, taking the first 9-5. Fatigue then set in, with his young opponent taking full advantage winning the next three 9-3, 9-2, 9-7, with Chris going down 3-1. Kevin Blake bounced back from last week's defeat with 9-4, 9-7, 9-6 straight game win.

First string Paul Goodchild recovered from losing the first 9-3 to take the second 9-6. Paul went 8-2 in the next but ran out of steam, eventually losing it 9-7. Paul again went game ball up in the fourth 8-4, but crumbled badly, losing it 10-8 to go down 3-1 and continue his miserable run. Bobby Hunt in the crucial tie came back from 6-0 down to steal the first 9-7. His young opponent fought back to level, taking the second 9-7. Bobby then raised his game yet again, coming back form 6-0 down to steal the third 9-8. Thereafter his dispirited opponent faded, losing the fourth 9-0, with Bobby coming through 3-1 to seal a 16-7 Watton victory.
