Five of Watton Junior Hockey Club's teams were in action at the Alex Hill Memorial Tournament at Dereham Hockey Club.

The U9's finished their tournament in seventh place.

The U11 Girls finished their tournament in fifth place.

The U13 Boys had the best result of the day finishing their tournament in third place.

In a fast and furious opening match they held Harleston Magpies to a 0-0 draw.

It was a great team performance with keeper Gareth Collins making some fantastic saves.

The next game against Norwich City was played at a similar pace and again ending in a 0-0 draw.

Watton next played Pelicans winning 2-1, lost to Dereham A 3-0 and beat Dereham B in the final

game 2-0.

The U13 Girls faced a determined Magpies team in their first game. Watton defended well throughout the game but let their guard down on one occasion from which Magpies scored the only goal of the match.

They next faced Dereham A losing 2-0. They lost to Norwich City A 2-0 before reversing the trend, beating Norwich City B 2-0.

Watton then drew 0-0 in a great game with Pelicans and finished off the tournament with a 2-0 win against Dereham B, ending in fifth place.

Watton Junior Hockey Club held their annual presentation night at Watton Sports Centre the same weekend at the tournament.

Prior to the presentation of the awards club chairman Paul Adcock, thanked all the members of the committee, coaches, helpers and parents for their continued support.

He also congratulated Claire Bambridge, Sean Billington, Mick Holland and Neil Batty on gaining their England Hockey Level One coaching awards.

Leaving gifts were also presented to Mandy Sellers and Alex Emmins.

The 2009 Chairmans Award for long and outstanding service to the club was jointly presented to Sebastian Hinchliffe, Alex Fitzgerald, Chloe Adcock and Elizabeth Adcock.
