Watton (Loch Neaton) Bowls Club's A team played their final match at home to Ashill A.

The visitors had already secured top place in League One, whilst the home team were assured of their place in the top league for another season. The match was played in wet conditions and, towards the end, in the dark but the result was a convincing 7-1 win by Ashill.

Watton ladies played at home against Bradenham in a friendly on Thursday. In atrocious conditions the home team won by 16 shots.

The Club Fours took place on Saturday. A draw decided the six rink partners. The winners were Sheila Clayton, Doug Oliver, Terry Kavanagh and Charles Newman.

They won all of their three games and by superior shots over another team also with three wins.

Norfolk VP's were the visitors on Monday afternoon and after six rinks of 21 ends they overcame the home club by 30 shots. Thanks went to eight Watton ladies and two guest players for helping the men who were short of players on the day.

The club competition finals are on Saturday and Sunday. The two-wood pairs will start at 11am with Terry Law and Alan Hubble against Brenda Draper and Terry Crockett.

This is followed at 2pm with the men's singles final between John Hunter and Max Hodges. Then at approximately 3.30pm the triples will be contested between Nathan Watson, Ann Muggridge and June Walker playing against Terry Law, Eddie Bebee and John Walkling.

On Sunday at 2pm the four-wood pairs sees Eddie Bebee and John Hunter challenge the holders Terry Law and Charles Newman.

Spectators are very welcome.
