AFTER a successful campaign last year, Watton United are preparing for the life back in the Anglian Combination Premier Division after a two-year absence.

The first team squad are looking to consolidate a high placed finish this season, building on a successful last season where the first team ended runners-up on goal difference in Division One, losing only four games in the process and being promoted to the top divisions.

They also finished runners-up in the League Cup, losing 1-0 to Hempnall United in great final in May.

The reserves are looking to build on a mid-table finish, promotion eluding them for the third season in a row, and with the same management structure in place, and a good mix of young and older players, they seem well placed to do this.

As for the A-team, a more than successful campaign last season ended with the team finishing strongly to claim second place behind a strong Bunwell side.

The third tier of the club will start in Division Two of the Central and South Norfolk League for the first time in more than four years.

Prior to the league campaign kicking off on August 19, friendly games are to be arranged against Norwich United, Hindringham, St Andrews and Mundford (see www.wattonunitedfc.co.uk for dates).

The club would welcome any new players wishing to add to the club's successes last year at pre-season training, which starts Tuesday, July 1, 7.15pm, at Watton Sports Centre.
