IT'S a key game for Swaffham on Saturday when they host Ipswich Wanderers.

It will be a good opportunity to pick up points as their opponents are one place below them in the Ridgeons Premier Division table.

Last weekend's game against at Felixstowe saw the Pedlars produce the best display of determination and character seen this season to draw 1-1.

The first half saw Felixstowe and Walton take the lead in the 21st minute with a corner not cleared on the first attempt.

There was not much between the teams with opportunities at either end and both keepers making similar saves from deflected looping shots.

One minute into the second half Swaffham were awarded a free-kick 25 yards out and central to the goal.

Aarran Butcher placed the ball to the left-hand bottom corner and the keeper was unable to get enough of a hold on it to stop the ball from going in the net.

It was still all to play for with 44 minutes to go.

In the 53rd minute Aarran Butcher was fouled by the Felixstowe number four (Neil Calver) but retaliated, concluding in Butcher seeing the red card and the Felixstowe player seeing yellow.

Swaffham dug in with determination to hang on to the draw and threaten more goals too. There were impressive games from Gary Setchell (capt) and Anthony Reeve in defence with Danny Rasberry and Ashley St John at the front threatening at times.
