Swaffham Town had to be content with a second successive share of the spoils in Saturday's clash at bottom side Cornard.

Alex Vincent scored a hat-trick in an exciting 3-3 draw which followed a 2-2 home draw against Norwich United Under-23s on Tuesday evening that saw Vincent and Tom Kendrick, with a real beauty, hit the target.

There had been big chances at Cornard before the game, with a new management team brought in along with a raft of new signings, while the Pedlars were missing some key players through work commitments and injury.

Cornard took the lead after six minutes and then doubled their advantage from the penalty spot on 15, with the Pedlars going down to 10 men as Luke Reed saw red for a deliberate hand ball.

Swaffham rallied and captain Vincent pulled one back, striking the ball with the outside of his left foot from 18 yards into the bottom right hand corner. Vincent levelled on 33 minutes, coming into the box from the left and lashing the ball into the top left hand corner.

The better opportunities opened up for Swaffham in the second half and they hit the woodwork before Cornard had a player dismissed for foul and abusive language.

The hosts were then awarded another penalty which infuriated the Pedlars and it was converted to make it 3-2. The Pedlars got a penalty of their own just two minutes later however after Vincent was brought down, and he completed his hat-trick from 12 yards.

Swaffham are on the road again in Thurlow Nunn League Division One on Saturday, this time to March Town United, and host Team Bury the following Tuesday evening.

The Reserves bowed out of the Cyril Ballyn Cup, losing 6-1 to in-form Division Two team Fakenham Town Reserves (Sam Loomes). On Saturday they are again on knock-out duty, at Freethorpe in the Norfolk Junior Cup.

There was a good win for the Under-18s in the league, Korben Willis bagging a brace to beat Sheringham 2-1.

The Veterans travelled to Cottage and after a good display eventually ran out of steam against younger opposition who won 5-1, with Gary Dodds getting the Pedlars' goal.
