Vellam, Ledbetter and Myhill win Watton Bowls Club’s triples competition

The winners of Watton Bowls Club’s triples competition, with two wins and a draw, were Sandy Vellam, Brian Ledbetter and Peter Myhill.

In the ACL an away defeat at Diss District 0-6 was followed by a 6-0 home win against Diss Causeway (Carol Relf, John Seage and Kevin Abbott 16-10, Gordon Stanbridge, Jim Adams and Graham Vellam 14-10).

A close fought match in the ADL at home to Connaught Ash was lost 3-5 and 39-42 on shots (Margaret Bowdidge, Richard Relf and Charles Newman 8-18, Sandy Vellam, John Walkling and Kevin Simpson 20-13, Pat and Ted Prior and Dick Mikulik 11-11).

Watton lost 4-1 and 65-48 on shots at Dereham St Nicholas in the EBA (Jim Adams, David Violet, Peter Myhill and Graham Vellam 22-17, Malcolm Hamilton, Brian Ledbetter, Mike Mitchell and Kevin Wilson 11-26. John Seage, Richard Relf, Charles Newman, and John Hunter 15-22).

They lost a friendly at Swaffham 68-54.
