Tennis ace Megan Wright, from Carbrooke, took park in the Norfolk County Championships at Lime Tree Road, Norwich, and won three titles to underline her great season.

Megan competed in the maximum four events, U14 singles, U16 singles, U14 girls' doubles and U18 mixed doubles. In both the singles events Megan competed very well in the early rounds to make her way to the final in both events, knocking out strong opposition along the way.

In the girls' doubles Megan and her partner Dayna Rice played very well together, again beating good opponents to qualify for the final.

In the remaining event, the U18 mixed doubles, Megan and her partner played very well in the early rounds, but lost in the semi-finals to their older opponents. Megan therefore was to compete on Saturday in three finals.

In the first singles event, the U14 singles, Megan played Klara Moolman. The match began with both girls attacking and defending brilliantly, but it was Megan who managed to finish off the final ball and win the first set 6-0.

The second set started much the same with both girls covering a great amount of court. Megan found herself 3-2 down in the set and it was at this point she really battled hard, winning the remaining games to take the set 6-3. Final score

6-0, 6-3 to Megan.

In the second final of the day the U16 singles, Megan played close friend Bronte Farrage.

The match began rather slowly, a very different final to the previous one. Megan played more of a tactical game, using the slice and volley to great effect to win the first set 6-0. In the second set both girls stepped up the pace, making the game more entertaining for the spectators.

Megan began to take an early break to win the second set and close out the match, final score 6-0, 6-1 to Megan.

The final event for Megan was the U14 girls' doubles with partner Dayna. The match began with all the girls playing some great tennis although Megan looked a little tired from her previous two matches.

The final was a fun one to watch and it was Megan and her partner Dayna who closed out the match, winning 6-2, 7-5. Megan finished off the day very well, winning three out of four finals.

With the help and support of her coach David Weeds, Megan is having a great season.
