SATURDAY saw Swaffham RUFC girls' squad, together with a few extra friends, travel to Leicester as guests of Leicester Tigers for a day of coaching and rugby.
The girls arrived at Oval Park, Leicester Tigers' training ground, for a 9.30am start and were greeted by Tigers' coaching staff who briefing them and their coaches on the format for the day.
They were taken through an intense coaching session on tackling and defence and finished with a very competitive game between themselves.
Following the coaching the squad got to meet Richard Blaze, one of Tigers' second-row forwards and first team players for a chat.
He discussed aspects of training and the daily routine of the players including diet and other sporting activities.
The squad was then shown around the training facilities and the staff explained some of the training routines the players take part in. The facilities at Oval Park are some of the best within the sport and it is fair to say they are very impressive.
