Former Manchester City striker Rob Taylor has been appointed the new manager of Swaffham Town.

The Pedlars finished in the third relegation place in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division and are still awaiting their fate for next season as they hope for a reprieve.

Taylor – who lists Wolves, Brentford and Gillingham among the string of clubs he played for – has also managed Holt, Watton, Diss Town, Dereham Town and had a spell as the caretaker boss at King’s Lynn.

The Norwich-born 45-year-old replaces outgoing managerial duo Matthew Parkinson and Scott Lumsden. They took over from Paul Hunt early last season after the long-serving boss ended his largely successful period at Shoemakers Lane.
