SWAFFHAM played Wisbech for the second time in three weeks and expected the same hard game they got previously, which proved to be exactly what they got.

The final score was 24-5 to Swaffham.

From the kick-off Swaffham exerted pressure from a resulting penalty given to Swaffham for not feeding straight in the scrum and quick thinking by Ben Dawes resulted in him going over for a try.

The conversion was successful by Baz Bailey.

Wisbech then went on the offensive and a succession of line-outs won by their large pack created pressure and finally a try in the corner, the score was then 7-5 to Swaffham.

With some good back play Swaffham regained territory into the Wisbech 22. Jamie Parke then drove over the line from a well-won ruck.

Half-time score: 12-5.

The second half started with a good run from Jake Bartholemew gaining ground from receiving the kick off. Some good pack work created the go forward momentum and the backs started to use the spaces created with some good handling.

Wisbech were very much still in the game but pressure put upon them by Liam Wright and Ben Martin who has made the flanker role his own (following in his father's legendary footsteps) created mistakes from the Wisbech side.

A good blind side run by Ben Dawes, who shrugged off three tackles and then made the score 17-5.

A good run by the Wisbech fly-half was only halted by a great tackle from winger Matthew Warman. Jamie Thompson then before the end ran in a try from halfway which was converted.

This was the third consecutive win for the squad in as many weeks and with the new squad members of Kofe, Reece, Matthew and Scott all making good progress and Greg Day having a good game at hooker means the whole squad is in good heart for the upcoming tour to Derby.
