Swaffham Town's youngsters will be aiming to end a memorable season with some silverware on Friday evening.

After a hard-fought battle away to Woodbridge Town last week, the Pedlars' Under-18 side earned their place in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League Championship final.

A single goal split the sides, Tommy Hunt playing Korben Willis through in the 35th minute for a one-on-one with the keeper, and Willis slotting home in some style style.

Woodbridge never really threatened the Swaffham defence until midway through the second half, bringing the best out of Aaron Watson, who made a fine save to keep his clean sheet and help the Pedlars secure a hard-fought 1-0 win.

Swaffham will now meet the winners of the South Division, AFC Sudbury, in the final, to be played at Diss Town's Brewers Green Lane ground this Friday (7.30pm).

Swaffham supporters are being encouraged to come along and cheer the lads on. Admission prices are adults £3 and children and concessions £2.

Although not the most rewarding season on the pitch for the first team, who finished bottom of the Premier Division, it was a proud moment to discover that the team were joint winners with Newmarket Town of the Thurlow Nunn League Integrity in Football Award.
