Disappointing few days for Swaffham Town and Thetford Town

It has been a frustrating few days for Swaffham Town, with two defeats against high quality opposition being compounded by what looks like a serious injury for Alex Vincent.
The Pedlars' club captain hurt his knee in the early stages of Saturday's 3-1 home defeat against Woodbridge Town and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
In midweek Swaffham, who had won their opening two games at a higher level, hosted early pacesetters Norwich United.
Sam Garner opened his account for the team in the 18th minute, intercepting a cross ball at the back and beating the keeper in a one-on-one to slot home into the left hand corner of the net.
The visitors were behind until the closing stages but equalised in the 80th minute after being awarded a corner which the hosts felt was a clear goal-kick. They bundled the ball in and then scored just five minutes from time, with Dillion Alexander getting the goal, to come away from Shoemakers Lane with a 2-1 victory.
On Saturday Woodbridge visited the Lane and Swaffham's rhythm was disrupted on 20th minutes when Vincent picked up his worrying injury and was replaced by Joe Jackson.
Just a minute into his appearance, Jackson was played through and lobbed the keeper from 20 yards. Despite again taking the lead in the game the Pedlars could not hold on and Woodbridge equalised in the 57th minute from a fast break down the left hand side, the resulting cross being met at the front post.
The key moment of the game came when Jackson again found himself with just the keeper to beat and his shot hit the post and rebounded to safety. Woodbridge went ahead in the 71st minute and put the game to bed with a third in the 77th.
There is no game for the Pedlars this Saturday following their early exit from the FA Cup.
It has been a disappointing start for the Reserves in Division Two of the Anglian Combination with a midweek defeat to Hingham (4-0) followed by another at Buxton on Saturday (5-0). After two games their opposition are sitting top and third respectively and the Pedlars are propping up the league.

There is an opportunity to correct that this Wednesday evening when Gayton United visit Shoemakers Lane.
Thetford Town failed to pick up a point in successive away games in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division - despite leading at half-time in both of them.
Andrew Cusack gave Town a 10th minute lead at Haverhill Rovers last Tuesday, only for the hosts to hit back with two long range strikes after the break to win 2-1.
It was a similar story on Saturday at Stanway Rovers, although in this one Town had to play over an hour with 10 men following what the visitors thought was a harsh red card for Ryan Sanders. Michael Campbell lobbed the keeper 10 minutes later to put the visitors ahead but Stanway equalised on the hour mark and made it 2-1 seven minutes from the end.
Town travel to Newmarket on Saturday.
