A great performance from a young and depleted Pedlars squad away to Midland Alliance side, Quorn FC – the standard of opposition and facilities far outweighing the travelling to Leicestershire.

Swaffham, undeterred by the home side, took the lead 20 minutes into the game, Mark Allibone, pictured, providing the assist for Alex Vincent to hit home first time.

The Pedlars doubled their tally in the second half, Allibone rewarded for his hard work and deservedly slotting past the keeper.

Quorn pulled one back to revive the game but the game was put to bed with 10 minutes to go, substitute Connor McQuaid scoring on his first-team debut with nearly his first touch.

Pedlars were in pre-season action again on Tuesday evening, welcoming Anglian Combination Premier Division side Acle United to Shoemakers Lane.

On Saturday the club's first and reserve teams travel to Horsford for two mixed games, the first kicking off at 1pm.

The preparations are all geared towards the first game of the season, when FC Clacton are the visitors on Saturday, August 8 – as Eastern Counties Premier Division football returns.

Also, many thanks to Neil and Keith Patrick of NK Patrick for their support and expertise in resolving floodlight issues and adding some preventative measures for the future use.
