Watton CC produced another stunning performance as an experienced side totally dominated a youth infused Hales and Loddon B.
The Norman brothers Bruno and Gavin shared the batting and bowling honours, respectively.
Winning the toss, Watton chose to bat and the scoring started immediately. Although the away side took a great catch to dismiss R Walsh for eight.
It was a long time before the second wicket fell as M Leverton put on 54, while B Norman devastated the bowling attack making 137 before finally being dismissed.
The away team then made good progress taking the next five wickets for a lowly six runs thanks to J Pitcher ending his spell of five over for three wickets conceding 20 runs.
Unfortunately for Hales and Loddon B they were unable to take any more wickets with R Dicks and G Norman adding a quick-fire 28 before the end of the 45 overs ending on a total of 266 for nine, leaving the away side with their second 200 plus chase in only the second week of the season.
Looking at a dry cracked and now crumbling wicket the young away side faced a strong bowling attack and it was not long before G Norman took the first wicket.
Like the wicket, Hales and Loddon continued to crumble leaving G Norman with outstanding figures of six wickets for 20 runs off eight overs, his father P Norman chipping in with one wicket for six runs off three overs before his calf muscle gave way to leave Watton with 10 fielders.
Bowling changes with T Palmer and D Norman caused more frustration for Hales and Loddon B and although no wickets fell the pressure built as they watched any chance of a win disappear.
With the away side’s last three batsmen holing out, another switch led to the slow seam bowling of R Dicks and the off-spin of R Walsh finishing the game.
R Dicks bowled four straight maiden overs and thus the pressure to score off R Walsh was too much as he posted impressive figures of three for 24 off nine, leaving Hales and Loddon B all out for a meagre 67.
After two convincing wins Watton CC look forward to a local derby against Hingham, 2pm start, at Hingham Sports Centre.
