Round-up of Pedlars news

With the Swaffham FC first-team fixture falling foul of the weather, a waterlogged pitch at Halstead, all attention was focused on Shoemakers Lane.

Swaffham Reserves played Martham on the main pitch.

The Pedlars took the lead through Matthew Coe, before the visitors equalised.

Coe then claimed his second of the afternoon, fine finishing following a break.

Martham again came back, 2-2 at half-time. Swaffham further took the lead, a great solo run and finish from captain, Robbie Howling.

In the last minute of normal time, Martham again equalised, but following the restart a through-ball was pounced on by Nathan Clarke to beat two and shoot past the keeper.

Swaffham took all three points with a final 4-3 scoreline.

Final score: Swaffham Town A 1, Gressenhall 3.

The next action at Shoemakers Lane is tomorrow (Thursday), the U18 side taking on Central Division leaders, Newmarket Town (kick-off 7.45pm).

Next Saturday, the first team travel to Essex to play sixth-placed Saffron Walden Town in the Ridgeons First Division (kick-off 3pm).

The Reserves and A team are again both at home, entertaining Freethorpe and Bunwell respectively, both kick off at 2pm.

Meanwhile, Swaffham's Ridgeons neighbours Thetford bounced back from Norfolk Senior Cup defeat to trounce Stowmarket 3-0.

Thetford host Team Bury this weekend, looking for revenge after losing to them 3-0 in January.

Manager Mark Scott explained: 'We're looking forward to the game.

'Since they beat us in January we have played some great football and had great results.

'We're desperate to avenge that defeat. With the form we're in we are confident we will do,' he added.
