The dark clouds which produced the fixture washout on Saturday had a silver lining for Saham Toney as it meant they have secured promotion to Division One of the Alliance.
Saham have three league games left and if they beat bottom team Kirkley &Lowestoft Railway on Saturday that should ensure they go up as champions.
Captain Simon Mower said: “We were pleased to get back up to Division One. We were disappointed last year being relegated by one point.
“We are back where we feel we should be. We worked hard to progress - and my aim is to get into the Premier Division.
“We have youth teams in place and hopefully in the future we can push the club right up there.”
