Last Saturday, the Pedlars travelled to Needham Market, who are second in the Premier Division and promotion hopefuls - and shocked them by winning.

Gary Setchell returned to the line-up and controlled the defence throughout the 90 minutes, leading by example. Robbie Palmer opened the scoring for Swaffham in the 28th minute with a fine strike, but within a minute the hosts equalised.

Scott Voutt had to be substituted in the 35th minute for what initially looked like a compound fracture to his hand, but it turned out that he had sustained an extremely nasty gash which required 16 stitches.

Needham Market took the lead in the 55th minute, but Stuart King levelled the scores within a further minute.

Swaffham continued to demonstrate the fine form that they have displayed in their last few outings but it was not until the 71st minute, when Ricky Muggleton hit the back of the net, that their total domination of the match was made apparent.

Nigel Julien made it four two minutes later with a volley from the edge of the area, before scoring his second in the 78th minute. Further opportunities arose but did not come to fruition.

Final result: 5-2 to Swaffham and Needham Market left shell-shocked.
