Following Wednesday's disappointing 2-0 defeat at CRC, another example of “when you're near the base of the table the luck is against you,” was displayed when Swaffham lost 1-0 to Mildenhall.

A determined Pedlars side hosted Mildenhall Town last Saturday. Against the play, Mildenhall took the lead after 10 minutes only for Ricky Muggleton to equalise following a mistake by the Mildenhall defence.

Muggleton, with a well-placed shot, chipped the keeper. Further opportunities arose, the best from Nigel Julien requiring a fine save from the Mildenhall keeper.

The second half saw chances for both teams but no further goals.

Swaffham Reserves are at home to Morley Village (kick-off 3pm) and the A-team away to Shropham United in the Fen Regis Invitation Shield.

Shoemakers Lane hosts the South Norfolk Youth League U14 Cup Final between Thetford Magpies and Swaffham Town on Friday evening, kick-off 7.30pm. Support is welcome.

Swaffham Town Youth are already looking towards next season. Any players ready for the challenge should call Dean Rissmann (01760 723215 or 07960 267030) for further information.
