Swaffham Town travel to Saffron Walden this Saturday for a mid-table clash in Ridgeons League Division One (ko 3pm).

Swaffham Town 0, Brantham Athletic 2

Perfect conditions for football at Shoemakers Lane, both weather and playing surface, saw the Pedlars again conceding an early goal and having to play catch-up.

Brantham had the best of play for the first 20 minutes and netted after seven minutes from a goalmouth scramble.

The pace and quality of the football improved and chances were created - the best from Kyle Plumb and Danny Paynter - but not converted.

The second half again saw increasing pressure by Swaffham but despite fine work by Andrew Hunter and Matthew Parkinson from an early second-half corner, Plumb hitting the side netting and Richard Cornwall hitting the bar, opportunities came but unfortunately were not taken.

Against the run of play, Brantham put the match to bed in the 80th minute with a deflected volley, leaving Lee Brooks no possible chance.

Better luck for Swaffham A who completed their double over local rivals Narborough, 3-2 the result, a pair of goals from Adam Figura, the third an own goal.

This weekend Swaffham Reserves host South Walsham at Shoemakers Lane (ko 2pm) and the A team entertain Yaxham, at the same venue (2pm).
