Marham Judo Club entered 17 junior competitors in the Eastern Area Age Banded Championships and County Teams Competition held at the Breckland Leisure Centre, Thetford, on Sunday.

Marham Judo Club entered 17 junior competitors in the Eastern Area Age Banded Championships and County Teams Competition held at the Breckland Leisure Centre, Thetford, on Sunday.

This was a very enjoyable day where the children demonstrated that they are a fantastic team with their awesome medal haul.

Gold medals were won by Elinor Glynn, Jenna-Jaye Nicholson, Cailean McCallum, Chris Parrot, Ben Nicholson and Rebecca Grant.

Silver medals were won by Sophie Buller, Adora Storton, Daniel Bitson, James Driver and Rebecca Innes. Bronze medals were won by: Lauren Francis, Gary Patterson, Conor Humphries, Joseph Jones and Rebecca Bitson.

Chris Parrott gained his second recognition for his fantastic judo skills, scoring not just one ippon on the day but five - and he was awarded a trophy for this amazing feat.

Many of the club members also successfully took part in the team events. The junior girls' team prize was won by Norfolk.

Coach Paul Nicholson said: “Well done to all the children at Marham Judo Club for their 100 per cent commitment in training, fun days and competitions, also to the support of parents. This competition was a great event to end a very enjoyable and successful year.”
