Watton mayor Keith Gilbert and his wife visited Watton Table Tennis Club's open night recently.
Club secretary David Miller said: “The mayor played in a doubles match and thoroughly enjoyed himself.
“We gave a demonstration of our new tables - these are easily opened by one person, as shown by Shirley Smith, one of our stalwart captains.”
Councillors Alan Osborn and Paul McCarthy played.
Paul, despite a badly injured wrist, played several games. Alan is a club member and plays for a team.
The Wymondham League's Senior Tournament was held last weekend.

Over 50 vets: David Attridge.
