Watton mayor Keith Gilbert and his wife visited Watton Table Tennis Club's open night recently.

Club secretary David Miller said: “The mayor played in a doubles match and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Club secretary David Miller said: “The mayor played in a doubles match and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

“We gave a demonstration of our new tables - these are easily opened by one person, as shown by Shirley Smith, one of our stalwart captains.”

Councillors Alan Osborn and Paul McCarthy played.

Paul, despite a badly injured wrist, played several games. Alan is a club member and plays for a team.

The Wymondham League's Senior Tournament was held last weekend.

Division Two doubles: winners Tamas and Daniel Dalmay, r-u Kevin and Adrian Dumble.

Open doubles: Nigel Houseago and David Attridge, r-u Mats and James Olsson.

Division One singles: Andrew Grave, r-u Rob Buttle.

Open singles: Owe Karlsson, r-u Mats Olsson.

Winner over 40 vets: Nigel Houseago.

Division One winner's medal: Mike Alderson.

Over 50 vets: David Attridge.
