WATTON Ladies continued their strong start to the East 2NE Division of the hockey league with a good win against UEA first team.
Another strong start had Watton 5-1 up at half-time with four goals from Charlotte Paine and one from Lauren Eyles.
The second half saw Eyles continue her scoring, racking up another three and Katie Parnell also adding her name to the scoresheet. Watton hope to continue their winning streak, hosting Dereham II this Saturday.
Watton Colts 1, Harleston III 4
WATTON played Harleston away in the league. Watton started well attacking the Harleston goal but could not find a way through the solid Harleston defence.
Watton then found themselves a goal down with Watton all out attacking, trying to get a goal back, which left the defence open and Harleston took advantage and were 4-0 up by half-time.
In the second half Watton settled down, Roxy Samuels was having a strong game for Watton and scored Watton's goal after waves of attacks.
Watton worked hard but with near misses they could not get back into this game. Marlene Secker had an excellent game in goal, keeping the score to four.
Player of match was Jade Farrel, playing her first game for Watton.
