Swaffham's swashbuckling comeback fell just short at home against Wymondham, ending in a 32-31 defeat in Greene King IPA Eastern Counties One.
The visitors flew out of the blocks and were 18-0 ahead at the interval. A converted Max Thompson try left the score at 32-7, before tries from Marc Lockwood, Matty Taylor and John Chamberlain earned a bonus point, with Jordan Mustard scoring the final try.
The result leaves Swaffham second from bottom ahead of this Saturday's derby clash at third-placed Thetford, which is scheduled for a 2pm kick-off.
