King's Lynn held the latest English Junior Billiards Tour event on Sunday when the Maltings Q Club hosted the fifth event of the season - with West Acre's Bruce Welham competing.

The event was very well attended by local players, however two Teesiders, Jon Buglass and Michael Williams reached the final of the event with Buglass (Hartlepool) winning the 60-minute final 262-249.

West Acre's Bruce Welham maintained his No 2 ranking nationally when losing to Buglass 279-174 in the semi-finals, while Michael Crisp of Narborough did very well to reach the semis also, where he lost to Williams 263(49)-184.

Earlier Michael had defeated Finlay Laing (Newmarket) 236-222 in the quarter-finals, this being a very good win as Laing had won the last event of the series in Derby in December.

Gaywood's Dan Westwood won the plate event when defeating West Lynn's Chris Drew 201-170. In the previous rounds Westwood had beaten West Acre's Chris Holland 102-67, Sam Reynolds (Swaffham) 119-78 and Narborough's Jack Crisp 114-86 to reach the final, while Drew defeated Mat Reynolds (Swaffham) 121-68 and Alex Ward (North Pickenham) 97-79.

The Subsidiary event was won by Alex Ward who defeated Ryan Williams (Narborough) 221-176.

Many thanks to Keith Sutton, Jasmin Cainey and Stu Dexter for refereeing the finals and to the Maltings for all their assistance on the day.

This event leaves Ryan Clark of Cleveland still ranked No 1, with West Acre's Welham, Buglass and Williams tied on second place. Chris Drew is now ranked an impressive eighth, while Danny O'Brien (West Acre) is up to 11th and Dan Westwood 12th. Chris Holland and Alex Ward are joint 13th, and Michael Crisp 16th.
