THE Dawas Freestyle Karate and Kickboxing School recently held its first karate black belt grading. The grading for Ruth McNally lasted over four hours and consisted of everything from basic to advanced kick and punch combinations on focus pads and line work plus sparring and self-defence from multiple attackers.

The grading for Ruth McNally lasted over four hours and consisted of everything from basic to advanced kick and punch combinations on focus pads and line work plus sparring and self-defence from multiple attackers.
Instructor Ash Simonds and senior instructor Dave Pleszko remarked on the high level of skill and sheer determination shown by Ruth throughout the grading to achieve her 1st Dan black belt.
She has shown true dedication over many years of training.
