Ann Ewer, the new Ladies' Captain of Swaffham Golf Club, 'drove in' on Sunday following the annual Put & Take competition.
The drive-in raised 59 for her charity SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families' Association) and the winner was Margaret Watson, who kindly donated her prize money to the charity. Ann will bring to her captaincy some years of experience at other clubs. She was Ladies' Captain at RAF Germany Golf Club in 1989 and 1993, and also at Thetford GC in 1999.
During her 10 years at Swaffham, Ann has served the club in several committee positions and is very much looking forward to her year as captain.
Ann is fortunate in having the support of an excellent vice-captain, Jan Kirman and a very enthusiastic committee.
They all aim to ensure that the ladies of Swaffham GC enjoy an interesting and varied year of competition and fun.
