Swaffham Town are getting to be known as the one point specialists following a disappointing visit to March Town United on Saturday in Thurlow Nunn League Division One.

Matthew Blackford put the Pedlars ahead in the 23rd minute, volleying home from 12 yards, but Swaffham were unable to capitalise on the advantage despite numerous attempts on goal.

There was a shock for the visitors in the 15th minute of the second half when Luis Duarte saw red for what many thought to be no worse than a tangle of legs, with the Hares converting the penalty to level the match.

That's the way it stayed, leaving Swaffham 11th in the table with four wins, four draws and two defeats so far.

The Pedlars take a break from league action on Saturday when they make the short journey to neighbours Downham Town to play in the second round of the Norfolk Senior Cup (1.30pm).

The all Thurlow Nunn Division One tie is bound to produce some entertaining football, with bragging rights, as well as a place in the last 16, the reward.

The following Tuesday evening, the Pedlars are again on the road, with a match at Debenham LC in the Thurlow Nunn First Division Knock out Cup.

There was bad luck for the Reserves away to Freethorpe in the Norfolk Junior Cup, beaten 3-2 with the goals coming from Sam Loomes and Jack Prentice. On Saturday they return to Anglian Combination Division Three action with a home game against Buxton.

The most encouraging news from the week was the performance of the Under-18s. They maintained their lead at the top of the Thurlow Nunn Youth North Division with an 8-0 win over a young CSF Canaries team.

On the score-sheet were Korben Willis, Tommy Hunt, Aaron Smith, Sam Carter, Harvey Neale and Kieran Bruce (3). This Thursday they host North Walsham with another three points in their sights.

After a free weekend, Watton United returned to Anglian Combination Division One action at Loddon and were beaten 5-4 in a real thriller. Matt Ayres (2), Jake Rose, Connor Davies and an own goal were enough for Loddon, with Sam Childerhouse, Nick Hollyoak, Sam Brady and Ty Bond scoring for Watton, who have no game on Saturday.
