Youngsters from Swaffham received a Drama master class last week when a top west end professional from the musical Hairspray came to visit them at Sacred Heart Convent.

Pupils attending the Back to Broadway Summer School were given tips on their dance routines and performance techniques by Zara Warren, who played the part of Tammy in the hit musical, and is now appearing in the Jersey Boys in London, during a special seminar on Wednesday July 28.

The young performers then finished the week by putting on their own performance of Hairspray. The event was held in aid of the East Anglia Children's Hospice charity.

Co director, Mike Bearcroft, said: 'We firmly believe that training should be carried out by experienced professionals either from performers or performing arts teachers, to ensure the quality of our teaching.'

'Our classes are for all, not just those seeking a career in the theatre. Everyone can benefit from working together as team, and the confidence they gain, coupled with the skills they learn, will stand them in good stead for the future.'
