A welcome to Swaffham pack has been launched for newcomers to the town in the hope of fast tracking them into the community.

The town's Iceni Partnership came up with the idea of printing the special pack full of information about the town, its history, some 100 clubs and societies, local businesses, activities on offer and contact numbers.

Now, thanks to funding from Swaffham Rotary Club, some 250 packs have been printed ready for new town residents.

Dennis Tallon, manager of the Iceni Partnership, said there were many sites with planning permission in the town and new developments being built so it was a good time to welcome people to the town.

“It can be a lonely place, coming in to a new town,” he said. “And Swaffham has got so much to offer including a diverse range of shops.”

The packs will be printed when they are needed so they can be kept up to date and will also contain leaflets from organisations in the town.

They will be handed out by estate agents to new home owners and it will also be available at locations in the town including doctor's surgeries, dentists and the Tourist Information Centre.
