The ball was held at Lynford Hall, near Thetford, which was attended by 200 guests.

Following a drinks reception and dinner, an auction was held with lots including watercolour paintings and helicopter flights.

Ball organisers Shirley Scott, Claire Bowes and Dianne Sculfer, chose Nelson’s Journey as the charity that would receive profits from the event.

They said: “The generous support that we receive each year enables us to continue to provide financial support to our chosen Norfolk-based charity.

“Nelson’s Journey improves the emotional wellbeing of children throughout a terrible time in their lives, as well as providing guidance and education to parents, carers and professionals and is certainly worthy of our support.”
