WATTON'S tourist visitor centre is to open from Easter - earlier than originally planned, the Wayland Tourism Association has agreed.

The centre in Wayland House will be open on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday from 10am to 1pm and from then on it will be open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays. These times will be maintained until at least the end of September.

This will be the 20th year of operation of a seasonal Tourist Information Centre in Watton. For 17 years it was based in the Clock Tower but this is now the third year of operation in the Dragonfly Centre at Wayland House, where volunteers now also provide staffing cover for events and exhibitions in the dual-purpose facility.

The centre stocks a full range of local and county leaflets, brochures and reference materials as well as local postcards and souvenirs.
