HAVING promised it would be the best ever, organisers of this year's Watton Festival say the week packed full of events lived up to and exceeded all expectations.

The ninth bi-annual festival saw everything from a Viennese gala to film screenings and even a Punch and Judy show.

Ken Davis from the festival's organising committee said more people bought tickets than ever before.

He said: 'It was the best we have had yet and we had 1,700 people attend the different events.

'There were four sell out events and everything else was very well attended.

'The standard of performers was excellent.'

The next festival will be in 2011 and the committee are due to meet later this week to begin planning.
