The Wayland Farmers Market, in Watton High Street, celebrates its birthday on Saturday. Customers visiting the market will be treated to a slice of birthday cake to celebrate eight years of promoting local produce as a part of the enterprise of the Wayland Partnership - the Community Partnership for Watton and the surrounding villages. The award winning Wayland Market is one of only three in Norfolk to receive certification from the National Association of Farmers' Markets. The others are at Acle and Aylsham.

Jan Godfrey, one of the team of volunteer organisers, said: “We are very proud of our little market. Most of our traders have been with us from the start and there is a real family feel with everyone supporting each other.”

The Market starts at 8.30am and finishes at 12.30pm. The birthday cake will be cut at around 10am.
