Break in at Asda store leads to police dog hunt

Two men have been arrested and cigarettes and razor blades seized after a break in at a Swaffham supermarket.

Police were called to the Lynn Street branch of Asda at 1.50am this morning.

Officers attended the scene with a police dog unit and found the store had been broken into.

The dog unit led the officers to an address on Orchard Place, where two men aged 39 and 55 were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Cigarettes and razor blades, thought to be stolen, were also seized from the address.

Both men are in custody at Wymondham where they will be questioned.

Investigations are ongoing.

In a tweet, Breckland Police said: “T1 attended a burglary during early hours at a local business premises in Swaffham.

“The legend that is police dog Shuck tracked suspects to a nearby address where the stolen goods were recovered.

“@NSPoliceDogs and @BrecklandPolice strike again! Teamwork.”
