THE Tudor moated manor house Oxburgh Hall will come alive to the sound of classic jazz with a one-night only performance by Chris Wrigley's Dixieland Jazz Band.

Set in the open air, beside the moat and with the historic hall as the backdrop, the concert promises to be a great evening of jazz and outdoor living.

Kay Donachie from Oxburgh Hall has been organising Friday's concert.

'We've had a few of these jazz evenings here at Oxburgh over the years, but took a break last year so I'm delighted to see the jazz back again for 2010,' she said.

'With such a beautiful setting and the option to either bring your own picnic or join in with our barbecue, it's always a fantastic evening.

'Chris Wrigley's Dixieland Jazz Band are new to Oxburgh, so we're looking forward to welcoming them and enjoying some top-quality classic jazz in the fresh air.'

The band of six will be playing some old tunes with new interpretations, mostly from between 1910-1930, including pieces such as Pennies from Heaven, When you're Smiling and the Memphis Blues.

The jazz evening at Oxburgh Hall takes place on Friday, July 16. Doors open at 6pm and the concert is 7pm-10pm. A barbecue will be available. Tickets are 11 adult, 8 children in advance or, if available, 12 and 9 on the day.
