A TALENTED youngster from Watton dance group Dance Unleashed is taking a leap to greater things following a successful audition with the prestigious Norfolk dance company Full Tilt.

Fran Leverige 14, who lives in Ovington, applied for the position after successful performances this summer on a joint dance project between ACE Dance and Music and other young dancers from north Norfolk.

Now attending the company's classes in Norwich, she is learning new dancing techniques, improving her fitness, as well as finding the time to continue with 'Dance Unleashed'.

Breckland Council Executive Member for Communities, Theresa Hewett said;

“Fran worked hard earlier this year to get the most out of the organized sessions with professional dancers and fully deserves her place with Full Tilt.”

“She just loves to dance! As well as attending classes, she is now supporting Dance Unleashed by choreographing routines for their shows"

Miss Leviridge had never thought about dancing until encouraged by a friend to join Dance Unleashed in Watton three and a half years ago.

Earlier this year, she went on to take part in a Breckland Council funded project to support the two Watton youth dance groups, Dance Unleashed and Star Dance.

In a series of workshops, the children were given the opportunity to work with professional touring companies Northern Ballet and the Richard Alston Dance Company and learned different styles and techniques.

Miss Leveridge said she had loved taking part in the workshops.

“I especially enjoyed being able to work with professional dance companies earlier this year, and it really inspired me to try new things.”

“Being part of Full Tilt is a fantastic opportunity and I'll definitely carry on dancing for a long time”

Full Tilt is a committed performance group who perform locally and nationally.

Members work on technique, improvisation, choreographic skills and create their own work for new performances.
