A SWAFFHAM woman is joining a housebuilding firm's staff who are swapping their hard hats for trainers and putting their best feet forward for this year's Race for Life.

Judith Baldwin, who works in sales for Bovis Homes Eastern in Swaffham, is one of nine sales and administration staff who are aiming to raise £500 through their efforts in the three mile race. And the employer has pledged to match every penny they raise in sponsorship.

The women, who work at Bovis Homes offices and sites in Norfolk and Suffolk, are tackling the course at the Norfolk Showground on May 4 in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Organiser and area secretary Julie Ambrose said: “Some of us have done the Race for Life before and we've roped everyone else in! It's a great cause and we're delighted to have got the backing of our bosses too which means we'll raise even more money for what is such a worthwhile cause.”

And they've been training hard to meet their own personal challenges in the race too.

“We all have different levels of fitness so have set our own goals,” said Julie. “Some have set time targets, others want to run the entire distance rather than walk.”
