TWO Swaffham volunteers have been honoured for 35 years of dedicated service with the town's Community Hospital League of Friends.
The role Pat Sharp and Dorothy Hardiman have played over the years was marked at an afternoon of celebration attended by Christopher Fraser MP, his future replacement Elizabeth Truss, Swaffham Town Mayor and Mayoress David and Shirley Harman, Swaffham councillor Ann Steward, members of the committee of the League of Friends and former members and Mavis White, matron of the hospital along with members of her staff.
Chairman of the League, David Gulliver, gave an address and read citations for Pat and Dorothy, which had come from the League's
affiliated body Attend, which is based in London. Attend is celebrating its diamond anniversary this year and asked for submissions to honour the contribution of long-standing dedicated volunteers.
The pair were presented with certificates by Christopher Fraser that had been signed by Prince Andrew, and Mr Fraser thanked them for their dedication and hoped they will continue with their good work for the charity that supports the patients of the hospital.
