PEOPLE in Swaffham will have a cracking Easter thanks to the Swaffham Team Activity Rebuilding Scheme (STARS).

Eleven young people who make up the team of STARS in the Swaffham neighbourhood will brighten up their town over the Easter break by conducting litter picks.

They will be tidying up St Peter and St Paul's Church in the lead up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The group of youngsters will be taking part in a ceremony at the church on Friday at 11.15am.

During the Easter period, STARS will also carry out a litter pick around the community centre in Swaffham. After they have completed their clean-up project the group of STARS will be able to enjoy an Easter egg hunt as a reward for their hard work.

Swaffham PCSO Michelle Thurlow said: 'We hope that the positive work that the young STARS will be conducting in the neighbourhood will make the area that much nicer for the whole community.'

Richard Bishop, of Swaffham Town Council said: 'The Town Council support the youngsters in their efforts which will aim to compliment any work going on in the public areas around the town. The STARS project is a good initiative which can only do good within the community.'
