The Swaffham Lions held a variety show to raise money for a teenager born with a rare condition which means she has to risk her life every day just to eat.

A packed audience watched the show on Saturday, October 21, at the Convents Barn Theatre with performances from a variety of acts including the Kings Lynn Brass Band, Daisy's Cat Folk Group and singer Amber Batten.

It raised over £800 for Sophie Burke, 18, who has a condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which has impacted nearly all aspects of her life and recently left her having to consume food through her heart via a life-threatening procedure.

She has been told that it could be permanent but she is not giving up and her family is determined to raise enough money to see a specialist consultant and potentially get treatment abroad.

Sophie attended the show and thanked the audience, telling them how much she appreciates all of the support.
